Reassurance of the highest degree...

The thought of our pets passing is not one that we like to think about too often as a pet owner, but thinking about your options afterwards, whilst upset, can sometimes be difficult.  One of the first questions many owners ask when discussing private cremation is ‘Is it actually my pets ashes I get back?’

Well, our Head Receptionist Donna, recently visited Summerleaze Pet Crematorium to get a better understanding of what actually happens...

RAW 2017 17th - 25th June

Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW) is an important week for rabbits. Over the past 11 years RAW have made it the biggest and best campaign about rabbit care and welfare in the UK!

During RAW week, St Boniface Vets will join thousands of vets and practices across the UK to offer free health clinics for local rabbits and their owners.

So it doesn't matter if your rabbits have never been to the vet before, it's the perfect opportunity to get them health checked by the experts.

Together we aim to improve the lives of the UK's rabbits and stop them getting a RAW deal!

This June Chris Packham and St Boniface Vets launch Tick Awareness Month

During Tick Awareness Month we are highlighting to pet owners in and around the South West the risk of tick-borne disease and the need for tick control measures.

We aim to help pet owners be more aware of the risk from ticks and the need to use control measures to protect your pets from the challenge that an increasing distribution and prevalence of ticks could bring to human and animal health.

Getting to know Tony a little better...

As part of this latest issue, to focus on Crediton, we asked veterinary practice owner Tony Kemmish a few questions, to get to know him a little better and learn more about St Boniface Vets.

How old were you, when you realised you wanted to work with animals? There was a big age gap between me and my big sister and she married a farmer when I was only 10. For as long as I can remember I’ve grown up around all types of animals working on the farm. We’ve always had dogs and I couldn’t be without one.

Worms...unwelcome companions to any pet

Controlling worms is a challenge, often not visible they may remain unnoticed for many weeks; causing harm to your pet and putting the health of your family at risk.  Protecting your dog against worms can be tricky, as not all wormers are effective against all worms your dog maybe at risk from.  However, now it's easy with a tasty tablet that not only prevents lungworm, but also all other major worms as well.
