We wanted to update you on our plan going into the second lockdown. Yesterday evening our governing body, the RCVS, released a statement clarifying the position.
We can provide treatment essential for maintaining animal health and welfare, along with non-urgent work providing that social distancing measures and safe working can be maintained.
In light of the guidance and our COVID protocols, we plan to remain open and fully staffed. It is essential that we work together within COVID guidelines. If you have been told to isolate either because you have confirmed COVID or due to contact with someone that has, you must not attend the surgery. If you are in that situation and require emergency help for your animal please call the surgery.
Most of our clients will be well aware that we have adopted extremely rigorous protocols to protect our clients and team from COVID 19. The team wear full PPE whenever working within 2 metres of each other or our clients. This includes face shields, surgical grade face masks, gloves and aprons. Our support teams use workstations at least 2 metres apart and wear face coverings whenever they move away from those areas.
We have learnt a huge amount since the first lockdown and are confident that all members of our team hold each other to account to make sure we are keeping each other and our clients safe.
Our service will continue as normal, but we need to postpone some routine appointments until the end of lockdown These include;
• 6-month health checks
• Most prescription checks
• Parasite checks
If you have any concerns about your animal, we are here for you. Please call us as normal and we will organise appropriate treatment.
Our contactless food and medication collection will continue in exactly the same way as it has been for the past 6 months. You can order via the website https://stbonifacevets.co.uk/content/medicine-request or over the phone. Once your order has been dispensed a member of the team will call you to take payment over the phone, we can then arrange collection from either of our branches at Crediton or Tedburn St Mary.
The Crediton surgery will continue to be open 8am - 5.30pm and we will continue to open at Tedburn St Mary (please call to confirm TSM dates and times).
We’d like to take this opportunity to again say thank you for your patience and understanding. Please continue to work with us to keep everyone healthy - animals and humans both!
Tony, Marie the St Boniface Vets Team
