Horse Health Week

21st-28th September 2015 marks the first national Horse Health Week, part of the Keeping Britain’s Horses Healthy Campaign.

Horse Health Week, launched by MSD Animal Health to promote the wellbeing of the nation’s horses, is nearly upon us! During the week we will be raising awareness of the seven pillars of responsible horse ownership.

The seven pillars of responsible horse ownership aim to promote horse welfare through preventative management and raising awareness of:

1.Infectious disease
2.Parasite control
3.Nutrition and weight management
4.Teeth and dentistry
5.Hoof care and farriery
6.Well-being, including environmental management, breeding and end of life care
7.Taking on a new horse

A horse owner booklet, containing comprehensive information and advice on each subject will be available for download from the KBHH website www.healthyhorses.co.uk next week.

Keep an eye on our social media pages and the KBHH website for information on each subject and for your chance to win a KBHH branded saddle cloth (terms and conditions apply).
