Jeremy Kemp-Symonds visits the Equine department at Wolfgar Farm

Thursday, 22 October 2015 - 12:30pm

Over the past couple of weeks, the St Boniface Equine team have been delighted to welcome Jeremy Kemp-Symonds, BA (Hons), BSc (Hons), MSc, BVMS, PGCHE, MRCVS to the Equine department at Wolfgar Farm.

Jeremy is an equine surgeon who specialises in the treatment and removal of skin tumours using CO2 laser with adjunctive treatments as required.

Working together, St Boniface and Jeremy have recently treated a sarcoid on a horses upper eyelid, a mast cell tumour on a horses lower eyelid and a melanoma on a ponies heel...please click the link to view the published case study (we hope to bring you the others very soon).

Here at St Boniface, we often recommend laser surgery in the treatment of skin lesions due to the reduced risk of tumour seeding and spread, rapid healing and return to work post surgery, and most importantly the high remission rates post-surgery.

If your horse has a skin lesion that you are concerned about, please contact the surgery to arrange assessment by one of our equine team 01363 772860.
