Services

Our team offer a wide range of services – after an initial assessment, the therapist will discuss the physical exam with you and create a plan for in house treatment that may include home exercise programmes.

Veterinary physiotherapists work under veterinary referral, meaning that a vet must consent that your pet is a suitable candidate for physiotherapy. For clients wishing to use our services for pets that are not already under our veterinary care, this can be done by completing our referral forms here and having it signed by your pet’s existing veterinary practice.

It is worth noting that many insurance companies will cover physiotherapy. Refer to your policy terms and conditions for more information.

  • Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is an excellent option when you want a gentle but effective treatment that rebuilds your pets strength and flexibility. In the treatment of humans and animals, hydrotherapy uses the physical properties of water to aid in the strengthening and re-education of the limbs. The buoyancy of the water decreases the impact on weight-bearing areas of the body, which can reduce pain, allow greater range of movement and ease stiff joints.

  • Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been used in both people and animals for many thousands of years. It involves the placement of fine needles into specific points on the body, and is well tolerated by most pets, even cats. Some even appear to make positive associations with their visits for acupuncture.

  • Laser Therapy

Laser therapy stimulates the body to heal from within. Non-thermal photons of light are administered to the body and absorbed by the injured cells. The cells are then stimulated and respond with a higher rate of metabolism. This results in relief from pain, increased circulation, reduced inflammation, and an acceleration of the healing process.

  • Therapeutic Exercise

These are simple, targeted exercises designed specifically for each animal based on the type of injury and the state of healing that focus on various components. The success of any programme is team work between ourselves, the animal and the owner, taking into consideration any time, physical or environmental constraints placed on the owner as well as the motivation of the pet.
