Devon County Show marks the start of the show season in the South West and St Boniface Veterinary Clinic of Crediton will, for the first year, be the show’s honorary vets.
Tony Kemmish BSc BVMS GPcert(DCP) MRCVS Practice Principal says: "We are proud to be continuing the Wolfgar tradition, by providing veterinary surgeons to treat the magnificent livestock"
St Boniface Vets have been there, for farmers of Mid Devon for more than six decades. Since 2001 St Boniface Vets has grown from a two vet mixed practice to a 13-strong veterinary team; offering dedicated large animal, equine and small animal services. Despite this expansion it remains a family-run business committed to providing the best in veterinary care.
Devon County Show is celebrating its 120th year and show cases the best of county and country life. The event involves more than 600 beef and dairy cattle, 1,400 sheep, 1,000 horses and hundreds of goats, cavies and poultry.
Although the show begins on May 21, for 3 days, St Boniface Vets will be onsite from May 19, as the livestock arrive.
Clare Smith BVSc MRCVS is an experienced member of the Devon Show team and looks forward to utilising all her skills and expertise to care for the multitude of animals in attendance during the show.
Clare has a wealth of experience; much gained from being at Devon County Show in previous years. As one of the duty vets she has dealt with sick rabbits to injured horses; rest assured she keeps a calm head on an ever changing situation.
Tony concluded: "We are delighted to be honorary vets and would like to thank all the other practices who give up their time to support the show. Many practices have lent their experience in previous years and we are all proud to work together as one team to deliver veterinary care for this fantastic event"
